New York University (NYU)

 One hundred and seventy years ago, Albert Gallatin, the distinguished statesman WHO served as secretary of the treasury below President Thomas United States President, declared his intention to establish ?in this immense and invasive town ? a system of rational and sensible education fitting for all and gracefully receptive all.? At that time, 1831, most students in American schools and universities were members of the privileged categories. Albert Gallatin and the University?s commencement fathers planned NYU as a middle of upper learning that will be receptive all, regardless of national origin, religious beliefs, or social background. While the University?s commitment to these ideals remains unchanged, in many ways in which Albert Gallatin would scarcely acknowledge NYU nowadays. From a student body of 158, enrollment has grown to nearly forty,000 students attending 14 faculties and schools at six completely different locations in Manhattan and in over twenty study-abroad countries around the world. Students come from several foreign countries. The faculty, which at first consisted of fourteen professors (among them creative person and discoverer prophet F. B.
